The only thing that is constant in this world is change and if you are reluctant to change, you'll be left behind.
I have been very fortunate to meet two very successful entrepreneurs during this entrepreneurship get-together event in Singapore.
I met James from Singapore and Eric from USA. Two amazing gentlemen who pioneer a business concept about 7 years ago in Asia that has changed the lives of many, not just in Asia but around the globe.
And why did I talk about change? Well, James and Eric were holding a very stable career in the Singapore Navy and high school basketball coaching jobs respectively before they decided to embark on their entrepreneur journey. All things start with courage and without that, nothing will change.
It was a wonderful weekend session with the two gentlemen. And what I have learned and observed from them is that successful entrepreneurs cast a vision of where they want to go.
They know very clearly what they want and pursue it wholeheartedly.
This is really the first step before anything major change can happen. And this reminds me of this wonderful book "Lifestyle Entrepreneur" by Jesse Krieger.
Successful entrepreneurs mindset is very different and they are great believers in investing in themselves for personal growth and development. It is a continuous growth and constant challenge against themselves to be better.
They see the necessity in investing in their business to build a strong foundation for a more sustainable long term business growth.
Unlike opportunity seekers who tend to prefer faster returns and switch around various opportunities to see which works better, entrepreneurs invest in their business built upon their dedication and commitment to make the venture work.
Some important take-aways from these two amazing and successful entrepreneurs,
- Don't wish to be easier, wish to be better (a good reminder)
- True leaders inspire others through actions
- Have fun doing it, losing it brings negativity in the business
- Real understand of your WHY, which has to be meaningful and deep rooted in you.
- The real fulfillment is to bring about value to others
- Closed minds don't get fed and hinders growth
